I am looking at purchasing a used greenhouse as my first step into the greenhouse business. The house I am looking at is very reasonable in priced.
This particular house has 4 inch pipe posts embedded in concrete. Has anyone ever moved a greenhouse where the posts are in concrete? Did you pull the posts and remove the concrete or did you cut the posts off at the ground? Or did you replace the posts?
IF you cut them off what did you do to re-anchor the posts to the ground?
Any and all advice is welcome.
Thanks!

Comment by Paul Cross on November 27, 2012 at 1:15am I got my first greenhouse by buying and tearing down a used house. In hindsight I don't think it made a lot of sense, but it did get me in the business. My experience was that most of the mechanical systems were shot. So really I ended up with a frame, two exhaust fans, and little else for my money. The heater had a cracked heat exchanger. The louvers sealed very poorly. The louver motors didn't work. The roof didn't go back on properly and had to be replaced immediately.
So really it better be a majorly great deal for you to be looking at it
Now, what are the dimensions? Width, length, bow spacing, height? What style is it? Gutter connect, freestanding? Trusses? You sure about 4 in pipe? Round? Can you upload a picture? Is there really not a separate ground post from the structure?
Hard to answer your question without more info.
