"Dbl poly is 1.5 so this system would have to be cheap to install or you'll never get the payback from any difference. What are we talking $/sqft for materials?"

A New Poly Film is available!

Hi everyone... it has been a while since I have been on here.  I want to make everyone aware of a new poly film that was introduced at OFA last summer.  It is called SolaWrap.  It is 3 layers of Polyethylene film laminated together (for a total of 16.8 mils in thickness)  The manufacturer in Germany blows air bubbles in the middle layer and creates a manufactured dead air space of 8 mm.  Because of the integrated air space, no inflation fans are required.  The air bubbles also deliver diffused…See More

Steve, I just read your comments about "Proven Winners" and agree with just about everything you had to say on the subject. I am forever tired of telling customers that the "labels/tags" we use on our Proven Winner plants have to be in the containers "by law" and at the same time have to explain why they do not give out correct information for our area. Many of the Proven Winner tags that claim "full sun" are just plain wrong for our S.E.Texas weather. It gets way too hot here in June, July and August for many Proven Winner "Full Sun Plants", especially those planted in western exposures. Their grower's catalogs are chocked full with supposed plants that will tolerate our weather but in fact do not. As the grower/retailer of their products I end up catching the flack from customers dissapointed with underperforming varieties....

Steve, You asked about IBA and I posted a link for you to check out. Just after I posted the link, the company took their web site down for about a week (for maintenance purposes). I think you must have checked it during that time, because the link is working again.

Hi Steve,
Happy New Year! We used a software called Ning to create this site. Check it out at Ning.com.
We looked into a spell check for posts here, but I wasn't able to find one. If you find one, would you let me know?
Thanks!
