"I use Dipel and the cost of the fuel to drive to the local supplier a few miles away is almost the same cost. I wouldn't mess with making your own unless you wanted to get your own strain going and start a new business selling it.;)"

"I suppose that if you took infected caterpillars, put them in a blender with water and mix, you might get something that would work. On the other hand, many of my customers keep bt over the winter and it seems to work the following season. Just…"

Is There A "Home Brew" Recipe For BT?

This late Winter/Spring I've extended my home garden to a 3,400 ft. greenhouse where I leave the top on and drop the sides during good weather and pull the sides back up during nights with freezes. So far so good! This season I have only used BT for a spray as the tiny moths have gone crazy with our warm Winter weather this year. I spray once a week and so far have zero leaf damage though the moths are flying around on the plants constantly. I can buy the BT wholesale by the case but do not…See More

"Send me an envelope and I'll send you all the snow you want! You can melt it down and use it to water! Sales are still very slow. People can't get into the mood when they have to shovel the driveway and can't even see their lawn.…"

More Crazy Spring Weather.....

This time of the year, every year, I ask how Spring sales are going in your area. Here in S.E. Texas our sales boom generally starts around March 1st. and fizzles out way before those of you further North get into your heavy sales. This year is no different. I noted on the mid-day news today that it is still snowing up North yet down here we are looking at a high of 87F today and we still need rain terribly. Two of the last three years have shown us in dire drought conditions and the future…See More

"Some plants in the Sempervivum family produce a white spider like web on the foliage and it is natural. If it is more like a cottony white goo you might be talking about some type of mealy bug."

"I have used the light horticultural oil sprays in the past and they work well. These are not the "dormant oil sprays" that can be used only certain times of the year. These can be used any time with proper precautions."
