Hello. I thought some of you might be interested in this study by UCDavis on using LumiGrow LED lighting. It compares High Pressure Sodium (HPS) and LumiGrow LED lights and the morphological effects on miniature roses.
There's a registration link to access the download.
Have a look: http://bit.ly/zIk0aF
The verdict: LumiGrow lights are as effective if not better at growing miniature roses. And as an extra bonus, flower senescence was delayed – longer blooms! That's something to talk about, right?
Do you have experiences with supplemental led lighting? If so, what have you discovered? We've found that not all lights are created equal, so many people have unfavorable results and expectations.

Permalink Reply by George Chan on February 28, 2012 at 2:31pm The ES330 fixture retails at $1499. If you're comparing up-front costs, perhaps it doesn't compare favorably. But when you look at total cost of ownership, the adjustable PAR, reduced environmental impact, electricity savings and a the other benefits; HIDs do not compare favorably.
Cheers!
