Home made soil scoop

If you do any flat or pot filling by hand, this scoop is a handy tool and easy to make. The attached pictures show one made from a jug of lemonade/tea, but we've made them out of liquid laundry detergent bottles too. The little upturn or teeth at the corners are useful if your soil sits in bins and packs over time.

Years ago I made my father a huge bird feeder. I did the same thing with a plastic container for dipping bird seed from a steel barrel.

It's nice to recycle in way that you actually see the benefit.
